Our oldest is 8 years old. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone! I know it sounds a little cliche, because EVERYBODY says that about their children, but really?? Where has it gone?! How I remember the very first time I held him in my arms… He was so sweet and precious to me. Now, he’s in the 3rd grade???? He has brought so much joy to our lives over the years. He started playing football this year, and loves it! This makes me so happy, because he didn’t really have a sport to play that he absolutely loved. Now, he does. He also loves to go out to the barn and help with the chores, snowshoe around the yard and field, slide, ride his bicycle, help pick veggies out in the garden, etc. He also loves to play video games, but we won’t talk about that. It doesn’t sound very homestead-ish. But, I love him with all my heart, and dread the day he turns a teenager.
Our middle boy is such a happy one. He loves to show off- always has a smile on his face. He’s so dear to me, as they all are. He loves to give out hugs, and it brings such a smile to my face. He’s now in 1st grade, and is learning so much- he has such a great teacher. He’s learning so much in school, already this year, and we’re only three weeks into it! This Fall, he’s playing soccer, although I’m not really sure how much he’s into it? Jonny also loves to go out to the barn, pick veggies and weeds in the garden, build really cool things with Legos, and yes, play video games, etc. I cannot tell you how much love my heart holds for this sweet, little boy.
Our youngest. His loves are the barn and dinosaurs. He thinks his daddy can’t do the barn chores right, if he’s not out there with him. It’s adorable to say the least. He’s so full of spunk and cuteness. He loves to help out in anyway he can. His famous words are, “Can I help with you?” So. Cute. He fills my heart with so much joy. He started Pre-k this year. I can’t even believe it! What a terribly hard day that was for me… He’s still home with me the other three days of the week, while his brothers are in school. Yay! I’ve been so blessed to be able to stay home with every single one of my boys.
This picture was taken out back in our hay barn. This is the one place that they love to play during the spring, summer and fall months. They find “tunnels” in the hay and crawl through them. They found a garden snake last summer in one of them. They didn’t like that very much. I admit that I’ve instilled some unnecessary fears into my boys… Spiders being the most prominent. But hey, they will never chase me around with one.
