These cookies are so stinkin’ good!! If you’re looking for a chocolate fix, and you love brownies and cookies- these are for you!
They call for a lot of butter, which makes them scrumptious…
~The batter is really thick and chocolaty~
I like my cookies to be misshaped, so I use a couple teaspoons to place them on the sheet.
1 cup of softened butter (2 sticks)
1 1/2 cups of sugar (I use coconut sugar)
2 teaspoons of vanilla
2 cups of flour (you know what kind I use!)
2/3 cups of baking cocoa
3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
2 cups (or more) of semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl, beat the first 4 ingredients- the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Add to the large bowl, and stir, stir, stir. Toss the chocolate chips in and stir some more. Your arm will get tired!
Place by teaspoon-fulls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Cookies will be slightly soft when they’re done. Don’t wait till they are firm- they will be burnt on the bottom.
This cookie jar was Josh’s grandmother’s. She gave it to him for his birthday several years ago, because she knew he always loved it. It will always be a treasured item in my kitchen and holds all of our yummy cookies. All of the Bell children remember sticking their hand into this very same cookie jar and finding delicious cookies made by her. I am honored that she trusts me with this well-loved piece! We always love getting cookies from her on Christmas and such holidays. She’s an amazing cook!
